Quatuor Zaïde.

Tuesday 18 July 7.30 pm
Picture Gallery, Paxton House

Debussy ~ Quartet in G minor
Schubert ~ Quartet in G D887

*Due to unforeseen circumstances, the published programme for the Quatuor Zaïde concert on Tuesday 18 July has had to be changed: Debussy’s Quartet in G minor Op 10 will be replaced with César Franck’s Quartet in D. Music at Paxton and Quatuor Zaïde apologise for this programme change and ask for your understanding.

Formed in 2012, this lively young French quartet is gathering up many of the notable chamber music prizes, performing extensively in major halls throughout Europe as European Concert Hall Association Rising Stars. They open with the glittering sonorities of Debussy’s Quartet – a quartet which marked a watershed in classical music, moving away from the rules of classical harmony. Schubert’s monumental G major Quartet completes the programme, one of a group of chamber music masterpieces written at the end of the composer’s short life.

Tickets £20.00 (concessions £10.00)

Approximate duration: 2 hrs
